Virginia Second Amendment Advocates Fear Possible Gun Registry Leading To Confiscation

The number of gun sanctuaries inside the state of Virginia now tops off at 130, a record number of towns and counties that cover most of the state.

Even so, those fighting against the radical gun control legislation making its way through Richmond are now tackling new fears of law-abiding gun owners being forced to register their weapons, which is the first step toward gun confiscation.

We do have a history lesson to go by where gun registries do lead to confiscation by corrupt governments that want to control the people while lying to them that their only concern is public safety.

Pro-Second Amendment advocates reviewing the gun control moves by the state Senate committee say the rise in sanctuary declarations is forcing Democrats to take on some compromises, like less strict universal background checks and to delay introducing a ban on “assault weapons,” which can always be interpreted as any gun that fires bullets.

Folks, Virginia is only the beginning.  Once they implement their gun control plans there, and before crime and murder rates skyrocket because law-abiding people can no longer protect themselves from criminals with guns, other blue states will point to Virginia as the model of total gun confiscation.

Do not take this lightly, even if you don’t own guns, because what we’re talking about here is the God-given right of every individual to be able to protect themselves and their families from people who want to hurt them, which could include a tyrannical government that no longer believes in western values.

According to the Heller decision, the US Supreme Court ruled back in 2010, through the due-process clause of the 14th Amendment, that the federal Bill of Rights applies to the states, which means that the Second Amendment applies to the state of Virginia, and that means that all of these measures are unconstitutional, as the government is not allowed to infringe on the right of the people to keep and bear arms.

Second Amendment advocates in Virginia are concerned that even watered-down gun control legislation will eventually lead to broader restrictions and bans.

That’s what leftists do.

They use incrementalism to seep in a little bit of badness at a time, so that each increment has the time necessary for citizens to accept it, and then, after a decade, the leftists got everything they wanted.

In this case, getting everything leftists want would spell disaster for law-abiding Virginians who want to be able to protect themselves and their families.

“There’s no doubt that the sanctuary movement has the Democrats concerned.

“Just too soon to know where things are going,” said Philip Van Cleave, who runs the grassroots advocacy group Virginia Citizens Defense League.

“We are very glad to hear that the sanctuary efforts are sending a big signal. But we were very disappointed to see what passed out of committee on Monday,” said Erich Pratt, senior vice president of Gun Owners of America.

The sanctuary movement now reaches almost every suburban and rural part of the state.

Citizen Lobbying Day in Virginia is on Monday, January 20, and gun advocates are planning to move in on the state capital in a fight to turn back bills that have already been passed so far, even though the disgraceful Democrats have declared they will stand firm.  Anything to screw law-abiding people over while trashing the Constitution.
